About the websiteSo we have a brand new website! - in case you hadn't noticed...
the goal of the website is pretty simple really, as follows;
So how did it all come about you say?
Over time David had been approached by a few people to help create a site, so that people could purchase online etc. Talk is cheap as they say.. several attempts never really went anywhere.
then in May 2010 Ian Gilchrist - VK3JAP put a call in to David on the shop line and offered to help out. Ian like PICAXE's and enjoys cutting HTML and PERL code plus a few other things.. a typical IT, electronic and radio tinkerer, among other things!
The site was built using the off the open source Zen-Cart software, but there was then a LOT of work post install, modifications etc etc.
here's a link to Ian's blog where he shares some of his work with the PICAXE + Amateur Radio and electronics in general.
What was the price for Ian's services in building the site? - the deal was, David gives Ian the very first PICAXE 18M2 to hit Aussie shores.. Ian gives David a website to sell them with - easy.. I think I know who got the better deal :-)
if you'd like say hi to Ian his email address is vk3jap@vk3jap.net
The picture below is Ian up a tree at the infamous geocache 'Sandhills FM" [GCYB0Y] by GeocacherGC:MOS6510. It was this Geocache which fueled Ian's interest in PICAXE's and subsequently saw the creation of this site as a result.
